The mission of the Millennium Development Goals Awareness Project is to raise awareness of the eight UN Millennium Development Goals on the UW-Madison campus and to link interested students to relevant volunteer opportunities which can result in the development of new skills and advancement of the goals locally, nationally, and internationally. What are the MDGs?
Millennium Development Goals (MDGs) are eight international development goals that were developed out of the eight chapters of the United Nations Millennium Declaration, sighed in September 2000. 192 United Nations member states and at least 23 international organizations have agreed to achieve MDGs by the year 2015. How can you help?
On each factsheet, which can be downloaded by clicking on the goal icons above, we have websites listed where you can find more information about the goal and information on how you can help to achieve the goal.
