**** The MFIS Furniture Loan Program ****

Donated, used, and discarded furniture are collected by the program 
and redistributed to International Students at the UW-Madison.

WHAT?  Beds, dressers, shelves, chairs, small sofas, tables, desks, lamps.  
Also household utensils, like toasters, coffee pots, microwave ovens, vacuum cleaners, brooms.
Maybe small carpets, drapes, bedspreads, sheets.

WHERE?  The furniture are stored in a garage behind the Dale Heights Presbyterian Church,
5501 University Ave, Madison, WI 53705.  No telephone.  
Take a Madison Metro bus to the Norman Way stop.
Enter Norman Way between the Church and the BP gas station.
On Saturdays route 8 only goes by Norman Way, once every hour.  
From Park and University at 9:06,10:06 11:06, arrive Norman Way 20 mins later.
Mon-Fri Middleton routes 70,71,72 also stop at Norman Way and are faster.

WHEN?  The first Saturday of a month from 11-12 AM, EXCEPT during 
December, January, and July.  Open ALSO the last 2 Saturdays of 
August and the first 2 Saturdays in September, 9-12 AM.

COST? A one-time service charge applies, which is not refundable. 
The renter may keep the furniture as long as enrolled in the UW.
Upon leaving Madison please return the furniture and contact the people above.
The service charge for used items depends primarily on how big the item is
and how difficult to move.  Heavily used and dirty: 1/2; broken but repairable: $1.

     Complete twin, full bed: $20, Complete queen, futon: $30
Couch: $30, small couch/loveseat: $20
Recliner: $15

DELIVERY? The student renter is responsible for transporting the furniture,
but MFIS will try to arrange delivery for $10 to a street address, but NOT up any stairs.

RESERVE or store furniture? Generally NOT possible.
