English Conversation Partners

Volunteers and international visitor meet one-on-one, for English Conversation Partners (not tutoring). An MFIS coordinator sets up the partnerships between the students and volunteers, but arrangements regarding time and place to meet are made directly between the partners. There is no fee for this service but sometimes there is a waiting list for partners.

Would you like to have a US American friend while you are here in Madison, WI?
Madison Friends of International Students (MFIS) has a program that will give you this opportunity. This is a very flexible program. You and your American partner decide when and where to meet and how often you wish to meet. You may go for a walk, or a cup of tea or coffee. It is not a tutoring program but just social contact. What you decide to do is up to you and your partner. If you are interested in spending time with a US American friend, please fill in the form and return it to the MFIS office in person or by email.
