There are more than 20 libraries on campus. For information about locations and opening hours see the UW-Madison libraries web site at http://www.library.wisc.edu/libraries/ or get a handout from CAVC or ISS in the Red Gym, 716 Langdon Street.
You will enjoy exploring the Madison Public Library, 201 West Mifflin St. (266 6300), or one of its branches: Northeast, 2817 East Washington Ave.; South, 2308 South Park St.; North, 2845 Sherman Ave.; East, 201 Cottage Groove Rd; West, 513 S. Midvale Boulevard; Far West, 5740 Raymond Rd.
You may register at the public library by showing identification that has your name and Madison address. In addition to books, the libraries lend records, pictures, audio and video tapes, and toys. Each library also has a children's reading area. The Madison public libraries offer lots of free lectures and entertainment events; watch the newspapers for announcements of interesting programs.
